Cath Tate Direct, formerly the Women's Stand and Olive and Oscar, is the mail order service for Cath Tate Cards. As well as offering you the whole witty range of Cath Tate Cards we also offer you the best humorous, ethical, thoughtful, political cards and gifts available on the market today. We aim to offer humour with ethics and ethics with humour.

In 1995 The Women's Stand was set up to sell witty cards and gifts at political, women's and trade union conferences all over the UK and at a stall in the Portobello Road market in London. In 2003, the business opened their shop Olive and Oscar in Shrewsbury. In December 2007 the Women's Stand and Olive and Oscar came under the umbrella of Cath Tate Cards and became Cath Tate Direct.

Under the new name of Cath Tate Direct our award winning conference stand can still be found at major conferences in the UK. In 2008 we have exhibited at the Unison Women's conference, the TUC Women's Conference, the NUT conference, the Women's Aid conference and at the Shrewsbury Cartoon Festival and Shrewsbury Folk Festival. We will be exhibiting at the NAPO conference in the Autumn. Check this page for future conference updates.

Cath Tate Cards is our shop in Shrewsbury town centre and carries our complete range of cards and gifts plus secondhand books and old postcards. It is just off Mardol on Hills Lane - close to the Welsh Bridge just behind Rowleys House Museum. Shop opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10 to 5. (Please note that we are closed on Mondays and Sundays)
